INEOS Styrolution presents high-performance solutions at VDI

by Christophe Ginss and Pierre Juan, INEOS Styrolution

The VDI congress has gained an international reputation in the automotive world. Major plastic producers and distributors as well as part suppliers and mold makers present their latest innovations for the automotive industry.

Solutions for car interiors

Christophe Ginss“In this perspective, we presented our new Novodur Ultra 4255 for interior applications, and our new star StyLight*. With attractive features such as high-impact strength at room- as well as at low temperature, 100% ductility at -30°C, high heat resistance and best-in-class flowability, the Novodur Ultra 4255 is positioned to become a material of choice for car interiors.”
Christophe Ginss, Sales Director Automotive EMEA with global coordination role, INEOS Styrolution

The Novodur® P2MC grade, which was recently chosen by Renault and SRG Global for the door of the Renault Kadjar, was also showcased at the conference. This tailor-made grade offers a decorative exterior application with real chrome effect for the Renault Kadjar as well as other models.

StyLight drew a lot of interest from visitors as its light weight, coupled with structural and dimensional stiffness and impact strength, make it an ideal solution for automotive applications.

Pierre Juan“Besides the traditional injection molding materials, thermoplastic composite has also become a central topic at VDI in the last years. It is great that INEOS Styrolution now belongs to the few suppliers being able to offer solutions in both fields.”
Pierre Juan, Director Thermoplastic Composite, INEOS Styrolution

Innovative interior and exterior applications

Visitors at the INEOS Styrolution stand during the congress had the opportunity to take a closer look at the new product grades as well as the innovative interior and exterior applications for the automotive sector. The Dr. Schneider folding table made with Novodur® H801, Continental’s instrument cluster made with Novodur® HH-112, an inner seat part made with chemical-resistant Terblend® N NM-19, and pillars made with Luran® S 778T and Novodur® HH-106 G2 were some of the applications displayed at INEOS Styrolution’s stand.
