When TVS Motor Company Ltd introduced a new range of two-wheelers to meet the growing demand in India, they decided for INEOS Styrolution’s Absolac to be the material of choice for a wide range of applications.
The new fleet of two-wheelers include the models NTorq, TVS Apache RTR, TVS Star City and TVS Jupiter.
For its new range of two-wheelers, TVS Motor had specified excellent paintability, high impact strength and quality consistency, as the key properties for applications on the outer body components, including the front lamp holder, side body, battery box case and mud guards. INEOS Styrolution’s Absolac DP29 M Q633 had been specially developed to the specifications of TVS Motor. This grade exhibits improved surface energy and good flowability to achieve excellent paintability, without compromising on dimensional stability, hence giving a sleek and futuristic look to the two-wheeler components.
It turned out that Absolac DP29 M Q633 is the only material in the market that meets TVS Motor’s requirements. The material enables TVS Motor to eliminate the high costs and long lead time associated with purchasing imported materials. This results in cost savings for TVS Motor’s customers.
Absolac grades are exclusively manufactured in India. They are INEOS Styrolution’s specialty acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) copolymers featuring easy processability, highly aesthetic colorful surfaces and excellent paintability, as well as good impact strength and heat resistance. They also exhibit high adhesion strength required for electroplating, as well as good mechanical strength and chemical resistance.
