Luran® S and Novodur® High Heat – the material of choices for car pillar trims

Like many exterior components, car pillar trims must blend performance and aesthetics. Luran S and Novodur High Heat are the material of choices for these automotive exterior applications.

Luran S

The automotive OEMs and part manufacturers are looking for a material combining dimensional stability, impact strength, excellent UV-, scratch-, high heat and chemical resistance as well as excellent flowability. Luran S 778T is used for low-gloss pillar surfaces, Novodur P2MC or Novodur H702 for high-gloss chrome plated or painted exterior trims.

Luran S 778T combines dimensional stability, impact strength, excellent UV-, scratch- and chemical resistance when used with the best UV-package SPF30. The grade can also be used for 1K low-gloss grained surface parts.

In addition, the Novodur HH-106 G2 is a glass-fibre reinforced high-heat ABS injection moulding grade providing a balanced property profile, which is required for the 2K moulding of the inserts of the B and C pillars.
